AROUND TOWN

Published by Trisha under Enchanted Cottages Posts

PENINSULA WINE MERCHANTS: This is a great shop owned by really down-to-earth and knowledgeable wine folks - Sallieanne and John Howell. In a very short period of time, they have put together a great place with lots of imaginative and inexpensive ideas for summertime fun at the beach - like their bright red Beach Wine Backpacks for $9.65, including tax. We have some at the Enchanted Cottages office if you want to pick one up. They are open 11-7 Tuesday through Sunday and have wine tastings each weekend between 12 and 5. And, best of all, if you stay at the Enchanted Cottages, you’ll receive a discount coupon for one free wine tasting as well as 10% off any purchase over $25. We hope you’ll find time to stop by to say hello to these nice people. They are located in the little pink building on the main street of downtown Long Beach.

Summer Gas Rebate at Enchanted Cottages

Published by Trisha under Enchanted Cottages Posts

We know it’s so hard to fill up the tank these days and our place on the Coast can seem a long way away.  Our response is to offer a $10 per night reduction in our regular summer rates between July 1 and September 30.   And if you can squeeze out the time, stay five nights and the sixth one is free!  Remember, that these rates are the same as those charged in 2006!

Sorry, but no other discounts would apply.  Subject to availability and sales tax, of course.

Guests staying in our Seaview cottages are now surrounded by our free Enchanted Wireless Guest Network, so bring your laptops if you must. Still no phones in the cottages, but our cell phones are always available.

The Enchantment Spreads to Mexico!

Published by Trisha under Enchanted Cottages Posts

We just purchased an Enchanted Condo in Ixtapa near Zihuatenajo, Mexico, way down south on the Pacific Coast. Easy to get to with a direct flight on Alaska Airlines through LA. These next few months we’ll be getting it ready for rental to those Enchanted Guests who want to vacation in the Sun during the wintertime.

We call it “el lugar dolce” (the sweet spot) and expect it to be ready for the winter season, when we from the Northwest Coast are ready for a dose of warmth and sun. It has a full kitchen and living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It will have maid service available, an interesting and hopefully charming décor, be economical and not your ordinary spot.

Close and easy access to the beach, great restaurants nearby, designed with the independent, budget conscious classy traveler in mind. Hopefully, you will agree!

A few pictures and our progress reporting on our activities will be coming up. We expect to be open by October 15th, but are at this point are uncertain how the lovely Mexican tradition of “manana” will impact our aggressive American instinct of having things done ASAP! But life is a teacher and we will adjust.

We love Mexico ourselves and the friendliness of all those we meet there. We hope you will choose us for your winter holiday and that when you leave, you feel the same.
